HowLeaky has been developed by several organisations including: the Queensland Government; RPS, DHM Environmental Software Engineering Pty Ltd; the Victorian Government and TreeCrop Technologies Pty Ltd. 

The science within HowLeaky originated from PERFECT (Littleboy et al, 2008). The model has been enhanced when data has become available to modify or add new algorithms. The current developers acknowledge many contributors to developments captured within the computer code. In the interests of progressing knowledge, the authors would be grateful to receive feedback and only seek nominal recognition when this software is used or abused.
